I took the winner's cup or the fight is on part 2

Well, after I found out that to gain the greatest benefits from garlic is to consume at least
5-6 cloves daily the cold that was trying to get a hold on me lost the battle! Yay for garlic!
Oh and for those of you who guessed that dh did eat garlic as a self-defense, yep, your
guess was right.
I stopped eating the garlics and started just chopping them up and pouring hot
water over them and letting them steep for a couple of hours. Then would
just chug it down. Funny I couldn't taste the garlic but the after effect, mouth
lips, tongue burning, were there. Never the less I'll do it again to prevent a
cold or flu!

Natural Tonic

Natural Tonic
by Chet Day
1 white onion, peeled and cut into quarters
1 entire head of garlic, peeled
4 red hot chiles peppers, stems removed, chopped
4" horseradish root, peeled and chopped
4" ginger root, peeled and chopped
Approximately 1 quart unpasteurized apple cider vinegar
Put all ingredients in a blender, cover with un-pasteurized apple cider vinegar. Puree. Bottle in a glass container and store in a cupboard at room temperature. Take two tablespoons morning and night at he first sign of a cold or flu.
?Warning. Hot chile's, such as jalapenos, habaneros, and serranos,
contain volatile oils that can burn your skin and eyes. Avoid direct
contact wit these peppers. When working with fresh chiles, wear
rubber gloves or disposable plastic gloves, or cover your hands with
small plastic bags. If your bare hands touch the peppers, wash your
hands and nails well with soap and hot water. If yo get some of the
oils in your eyes, flush them with cool water. Oils from chiles can
transfer to knives and cutting surfaces, so wash tools and
surfaces with hot, soapy water after using to prevent the oils
from transferring to other foods.

I've got my boxing glove's on...it's a fight!

For the last four days or so I've been feeling
rather congested in my head
and woke up sneezing like
crazy...so I decided to test
the garlic tea remedy.
Yuk, I didn't like it so I just
ate a couple of garlic raw with
water to wash it down.
I did this every morning
and night. Well, the cold never
got worse but it never did
get better either!
It just so happened my Garlic book came in the
mail yesterday, so last night I read and found
out that I needed to be taking in a lot more
garlic than I had been.
So today I had garlic tea with onion, no lemon
no honey. I had about 5-6 garlic
cloves in it. It really wasn't bad.
I did this a couple of times and for
dinner I had chicken noodle soup with you
guested it garlic and onion LOTS!
I don't know if I'm getting used to
the garlic flavor or my taste buds
just don't recognize the unique
flavor of garlic but I kinda like it.
I felt a little worse this am when I woke up
but after the garlic felt better.
Again tonight I was really starting to
feel my chest hurting and
again after the garlic I'm feeling
pretty good.
Time will tell if this garlic
will work for me.
I know your wondering
did dh eat garlic as a self-defense...
what do you think? LOL

Hot Cup of.....

Garlic, lemon, and honey to kill a cold...thanks to Candy Jane @ EarthHeartWho shared her garlic tea that kicks
a winter cold.

yes, garlic! Just crush about
six cloves of garlic, toss
in an empty mug. Add some boiling
water and let it steep
for ten minutes.
Add some honey for sweetness
squeeze some fresh lemon juice enough
for your own taste and enjoy sipping on a tea
that is working for you.
When the mug is empty just plop those
garlic 'jewels' to quote Candy into
your mouth and chew them up, swallow,
and if you like, brush your teeth afterward.
I know you'll smell like garlic
but hay, look at it like this,
would you rather have people
avoid you because you smell like garlic
or
to have them avoid
you because your sick?
Me, I don't mind smelling like garlic
if it means I'll suffer less or not
at all with a cold!
ahchoo!
