Needle work

There is a couple I know of
that is soon to be betroth...

I would like to bless them with
a hand crafted gift, so my first idea
was Shabbat Napkins... lovey, but
it would be too time consuming.
Then I thought of a "Welcome"
wall hanging... yeah... then
instead of 'Welcome' what
about "Shalom"
That was it!  I found what I
wanted to embroider or cross stitch
Then I ran across this lovely
design.

I thought at first
cross stitch but just transfering
it onto a cross stitch grid was
a slow process.  So I decided this
was to be an embroidery piece.

Now I've had experience in embroidery but
I'm still quit green at the craft.  I thought
I would just outline the design in
a stem stitch (outline stitch)  but
it was so beautiful it needed to be
filled in with color.  Googled  embroidery
stitches found a youtube video and learned
how to do a satin stitch (fill-in stitch)

this is a lot of stitches... time consuming
but just one project instead of 4-6 (napkins)
My girls are already asking me to make
them one... I might use scriptures
in the next ones... I love, love, love
this design.  I just might make me
some Shabbat Napkins ;-)
