Brown Sugar Recipe

Today is Friday so I'm baking Challah Bread, the recipe calls
for 1/3 of brown sugar, eeks, I don't have brown sugar
and I don't have a car to run to the store...that's ok I'll
walk up the street to the Dollar General a pick up a bag...
it's raining...sigh...what to do...think...think...ok
I'll just sweek he recipe and add white sugar...no
wait I wonder if I can make brown sugar :-D
I just googled 'brown sugar recipe' and
yep it's there and here is
the recipe:
1 cup of white sugar
1-2 table spoons of molasses
mix well
That's it!
I only used 1/3 of white sugar
1 tsp molasses!
This is great because I use brown sugar all the time, it's expensive
at the store but now I can just whip it up
as needed at the fraction of the cost!!

  3. I've done that in a pinch. I like dark brown sugar, so it works well for me. Great improvising! *Ü*

  4. Bridget~LOL...I think it taste terrible too...I used some in a home made maple flavor syrup...the molasses was WAY TOO STRONG...that's why I had it...so I won't use it for maple syrup but will be using it for brown sugar...you are so funny...still laughing!!
