Honey, make a key lime pie

Key Lime Pie VIII

Yep, it's my husband favorite pie. And it's one of the
easiest to make:

Ingredients:graham cracker crust pie, store bought or homemade
2 cans of sweetened condensed milk
1/2 cup of sour cream
3/4 cup key lime juice, freshly squeezed or store bought
1 tablespoon grated lime zest

Directions:(1) Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C)
(2) In a medium bowl, combine condensed milk, sour cream, lime juice, and lime rind. Mix well and pour into graham cracker crust.
(3) Bake in preheated oven 5 to 8 minutes, until tiny pinhole bubbles bust on the surface of pie. DO NOT BROWN! Chill pie thoroughly before serving. Garnish with lime slices and whipped cream if desired.

  1. YahKheena,

Thank you, Thank you for this recipe. My husbands favorite pie is the same as well. I have yet to find a store or bakery bought one that he likes so I will be trying this recipe this weekend! I am delighted to see that it is a pretty simple recipe as well, YAY! Thanks again for sharing this with us. :o)

    Blessings and Shalom,

I hope your husbands and family enjoy the pie as much as mine does...

BTW I also make lime flavored whip cream to go on top. Mix heavy whipping cream till whipped, add powedered sugar to taste and squeeze lime juice to taste I like my whip cream to just have a hint of lime flavor peeking through the whip cream.

enjoy!! And have a restful, joyful, and peaceful Shabbot

  4. thank you so much for your prayer yahkheena... it really touched my heart to know that someone would actually take the time to post a prayer, rather than to say, "i'll be praying for you!" :)

  5. We have tried this recipe and LOVE it (as you know!)...but this week we put our own twist on it and it turned out wonderful! We substituted orange juice and zest for the lime and the result was a delicious orange cream pie. The orange wasn;t as strong, so I added a little orange flavor (frontier) to it, but it would have been tasty without it too. We intend to do the same thing next week with lemon! :-) Thanks again..it is now a family favorite for us too. ;-)
